Arrive early and greet people when you see them. You can also go in for a day on weekends — just spend the day at the office. “You come to the office on weekends too?” “I’m used to it.”

Solve problems independently — the problems you hit when writing code. If it’s a question of approach, since you came in at a relatively low salary, you can ask.

Code problems generally have to be solved on your own. Leave yourself a way out: write your code clearly according to the standards, and write comments.

Do your own job well

Help others as much as you can

Give your boss an expectation that is within what you can control, then exceed it

Make yourself a promise, put the difficulties under your feet, and work hard to deliver on the big claims you made. Even if you don’t achieve them, they will see how hard you tried. Give it everything you’ve got and leave no regrets.

Find your own niche: have one area you’re good at, so that whenever anyone doesn’t know something they have to come and ask you. Make yourself a label — irreplaceable.
